Alice Hotel Budapest offers an authentic experience with a modern interior, where guests can get to know the traditional face of Budapest. The building’s former owners, the Weiss family, lived a rich social and cultural life here at the beginning of the 20th century. Alice Weiss, the owner’s wife embodies the life of bourgeois Budapest at the time. She appears consistently in every element of the design concept as a mysterious woman who is hiding, but gradually lets other close to her, and eventually reveals herself but only to those who are really curious. Alice’s world, the golden age of Budapest, is being depicted in the illustrations. The locations of Alice’s life appear as illustrations and in their present state, while black and white photos complete the design to enhance this mixture of the present and the past.
