In addition to organizing contemporary and historical photography exhibitions representing national and international trends, Mai Manó House is also committed to the development and dissemination of the culture of Hungarian photography. Launched on 21st of May 2019, the purpose of the Punkt online magazine is to inform Hungarian readers about the major events in national and international photography, and to showcase the current trends of Central and Eastern European photography, in both Hungarian and English. Punkt is an interface showcasing the latest trends and experimental genres; you may find essays, interviews and critiques with artists, videographers and photographers throughout the varied sections of the magazine.
In addition to the authentic content, design was paramount for the editors, so they were looking for an exemplary solution that could make it a real experience to host the valuable content. In a few month’s worth of work, Graphasel Design Studio was involved in creating the online magazine, which resulted in a number of fine solutions from both the graphics and development side. The Punkt magazine logo was inspired by a shadow play that is sharply directed at a point where form and its shadow encounter, i.e. the origin of light-based imaging.
